This was the year of the wardrobe changes!
What my kids wanted to be for halloween this year was
Madelyn: A Pirate!
Jake: A pirate!
Robby: A pirate! Ok, a dragon slayer!
Why? Well, #1 because we just went to disneyland (pictures to be posted soon) and they had pirates on their brain and
#2 because their Aunt Becky makes the darn most amazing halloween costumes and she happened to have a pirate and (close enough for a 2 year old) a dragon slayer she had made for her kids a few years back. (that's right, she made those!)
Only problem, we wouldn't see her until Nana's spooky Halloween Party and they had two things to dress up for before the party...solution?
Maddie: Pirate Emperess!
Jake: Doctor!
Robby: Fireman!
which I happened to have on hand
All was great until Maddie came home from school on Thursday and said in a very bummed tone, "everyone just thought I was a chinese girl"
Okay, I can see why.
Well Nana's spooky halloween party was that night and mommy didn't have time to create a more piratey looking costume so we slapped a bandana around her head and gave her a sword and...Whallah...
Okay, a little better.
Well for the actual "trick or treating" halloween, we went a little further and picked up some spooky fabric, cut up a wizard dress and there you have it....
A Pirate!
Much better, and she was happy!

Fantastic costumes, i am loving the changa-rooski's. Lucky ducks. And Maddie does look like a chinese princess with that head dress/maybe a oriental pirate??? And how about Jake's wig? Hilarious!!! And Robbie is the cutest dragon slayer ever.
Looks like Nana's party was a Hit, again. Fun stuff!
Very cute! Pirates seem to be the thing this year. I saw a lot of them out!
Wow the costumes are perfect, your sister did a great job love the pirates.
